Built by lawn-care people, for lawn-care people.

We are building Roots because we spend our days in the same trucks, on the same phones, and inside the same software you do.

Why we’re building it.

We live the work. We feel the cross-screen shuffle, the routes that send techs across the street with a hose, the bills that keep growing line by line. We’ve been the operators and we’ve been the builders.

Roots is the product we wanted and couldn’t buy.

Lawn-care tech mowing a residential lawn with a Montana home and mountain backdrop

Two paths. One product.

Our founders have known each other since they were born. Childhood friends who landed in very different fields as they grew up.

One went into the industry. He runs a successful lawn-care company in Montana with his fiancée and business partner. Year after year, route after route, they felt the same gap: the software running the industry had stopped working for the people running the work.

The other went into tech. He founded a startup out of his college dorm room and grew it into something real. Different field, different problems, but the same instinct for shipping things people actually use.

When the frustration with industry software became impossible to ignore, the next step was obvious. They brought together a trusted team and got to work scoping a system the founding team could stake their lawn-care business on, and that every other lawn-care company would want to use too.

That’s Roots.

Built for how a lawn-care business actually runs.

The legacy platforms got the industry here. Roots takes a different position in three places. The ones operators feel every day.

  • Operator-grade depth

All the depth. None of the dated surface.

The category leaders run the industry, but the daily friction has crept in: clunky cross-screen workflows, desktop-only flows, exports that take weeks. Roots brings that operational depth into a tool that's actually built for how teams work today.

  • Lawn-native

Built for lawn, not adapted to it

Roots is shaped around how a lawn-care business actually runs. Right-side / left-side routing, application records, weather capture for compliance: the things other software treats as edge cases are the day job here.

  • Routing that fits the truck

    Routing operators can actually trust

Side-of-street, days-since-service, drag-to-correct pin placement, and routes the field can finish without crossing the street with a hose. Routing was the single biggest thing we heard from operators, and it sits at the center of the product.
